driving today and stopped at a light, trurned green and when i hit the gas the car sounds like it has a huge exhaust and a dragging noise. i drove for 5 more minutes to a freinds and looked under what i saw was the pipe connecting to the cat converter had rusted off at the joint to it. F$@K!! the cars only 6 years old and i cant belived it happened. ill try to get a pic tomorrow. this blows how much is it gona cost me?? why me!?!

 

Yeah, I had that happen too. Twice. Sounds like they should be able to weld it back together . . . $50 maybe? Or you could buy a new exhaust and install it yourself.

 

exhaust upgrade time? eh eh?...sux about the exhaust fallin off tho..

 

i would get a decent muffler and get some custom piping from the cat back, 220bucks for everything including the muffler installed with labor at a muffler shop

 

yea i think its weldable so i can just tell the guy at the muffler shop or whatever to weld it for cheap? i think i may look into a new system as well if its in the 200sum dollar range.

 

well how bad is it rusted off and is it rusted on a straight pipe?
if so you could do it yourself....
using some pipe and some wide strap clamps. throw the pipes on thier and just tighten down the bolts on the clamps

i got my civic a few months ago and he said the exaust system was just replaced...... i guess thier stock systems SUCK AND RUST IN HALF!
i hear about this problem alot lately!

musta been a bad steel mix........
the dealer i bought from said he had 220bucks in the new system.
