Default some electrical problems

since I have bought the car...the heat/ac control thing has never lit up. Figured the bulb was out. But the other day it turned on..but real dim..when I touched it it turned off and neva came on. Is it a loose wire? Can I remove the besel without removing everything else?

Another issue I have it the gauges (speedometer and gas etc) at time that light starts to fade out, but I noticed that when I touch the top portion of the dimmer light switch they come back on to regular brightness. Can this also come off to check the wiring behind it. Or is there something else I should look for that's causing these issues?

Start with a new dimmer control. It runs the lights on the heater panel too.

On a '92 to '95, when the heater bulbs are burnt out you'll need to remove the whole panel from the car to change the bulbs.

Gently pry the dimmer switch out of the dash. Then unplug the connector and install a jumper wire that connects the Red and Red/Black wires in the connector. If the dash lights no longer have the dimming problem, then the dimmer switch is bad.

To remove the heater panel: remove the dash trim around the panel and radio, then remove the radio, then reach up through the radio opening to unscrew the screws holding the panel in.
