Default Something wrong with diff?

I pulled my trans apart today to replace all the bearings since the isb needed to be done....

I was checking over all the teeth...sync rows....selectectors and rings. I pulled the from the case and spin it in my hand holding onto the bearings and heard a clunk....

The diff pin looks the be moving up and down by about 1/32 - 1/16".....the drift pin is still in there good and staked.

Is this normal for a diff pin to move back and forth a little or should it be fixed in place and not move at all?
