Default speed odmeter

Hi all, my first post, my first Honda car.

Have a 1994 civic dx, 1.5 166,000 miles. my speed odmeter is off, seems like when i am going 30 iam going 40. it also is not steady, jumps a little. the trip meter is still working and the miles still turn over. any ideas what might be wrong.

it probably loose cable, check speed cable on the tranny, there's a clip that hold the cable in place, most likely not seated properly.

It's electronic, if it moves at all the sensor is probably OK. Does the odometer reasonably match the mile-posts on a highway? If odometer is OK but speed is off it's going to be the speed / odometer unit itself in the cluster.
