Squeak/Whistling at 2000 RPM.
I have a 2000 Civic EX that makes a whistling or squeaking kind of noise whenever the RPMs reach 2000 and the sound fades away around 3000. It's my first car so I only have a few modifications; a cold air intake, Flowmaster exaust system, aftermarket throttle body, intake manifold. Ive put my head under the hood and reved the engine with the throttle body and I can't seem to pinpoint the problem or even where the sound is coming from. The belt is only about a year old and in good condition with deep tread. My dad told me that it's most likey the overflow vaulve, but I dont think thats logical plus at 2000 RPM it should be no problem. Does anyone else have this problem or a reccomendation on how I can solve it. Also, this might be a stupid question but can anyone explain to me how to do an oil change on my own in a Civic, I've seen a few youtube tutorials but dont know how credible those are. I usually have them professionally done.
