Default start, idle, and sluggish acceleration issue

1995 civic ex, d16y7 block d15b7 head, automatic. Only code I'm getting in a code 6 which is coolant temp. Now my problem is sometimes my car will start fine and then the cel will come on and it will almost die and idle back up a few times then its fine . And other times the cel will be on ask I first try and start the car an it will take 30 seconds before it will start. I'm pretty sure this issue is causing my sluggish acceleration. I am stumped so can any off the Honda gurus give me some insight

Resolve all codes before expecting your car to run properly. The idle speed is programmed to vary depending on the ECT reading. So flakey ECT = unsteady idle.

Sudden decrease of performance can also be due to a skipped timing belt.

Intermittently cranking but not starting-- the main relay is a prime suspect.

Well I have replaced the temp sensor and the code is still there even after reseting the ecu. I'm at somewhat of a loss here . I have cleaned the iacv, throttle body and all its ports, ran seafoam thru it and it runs better bit not like it should. And as of today I'm having to replace my injectors.

Again RESOLVE ALL CODES.... Don't be a parts changer and buy a set of injectors that don't seem to need replacing.

First, did you replace the right sensor? There are 3 sensors that measure coolant temperature on a Civic and there is confusion among them. The one that drives the ECU is the one screwed into the end of the head below the distributor, toward the front of the engine, with two wires.

The next step with the ECT would be to unplug the ECU and measure the sensor resistance from the ECU end of the harness. If it's not right that means there's a problem with the car's wiring and the sensor is not connected to the ECU.
