so when i start my hatch it will start after 3 or 4 cranks if i keep my foot to the floor
then itll idle for about 10-15 seconds then stutter and die

i replaced my fuel filter and it started a lil bit faster but still stuttered and died
if i keep my rpms up the engine will stay running

opinions?

 

tune up? pull the plugs and dizzy cap and inspect them, also check the main fuel relay,

 

HAVE YOU TRIED TURNING THE KEY?

As I said earlier on AIM , check spark plugs and wires. Check for possible shorted out wires. < my buddies 240 had exact same issues. Ended up being a amp wire that grounded out somewhere on the body. Thing did not have a fuse. > Check the injectors, all two of them. lol. If all that fails, try your rex's fuel pump. =)

cleaned the dizzy and ran seafoam through the tank now she purrs like a kitten

but the dizzy still feels and sounds like somethings clunking around in it
how bad is that to drive with? im not keeping the engine very long but will have to drive it for like a month

also it sounds like i have a high idle but i have no tach
could that be caused by the dizzy or should i clean the iacv and fitv?
wait does dpfi even have those? lol

 

could be a vacum leak. also chech the throttle cable and make sure they didnt adj it to make it idle high to stay running

 

ya i think it could b a vacuum leak cuz once earlier the idle kep bouncing for a few mins then stopped
ill look into that tomorrow
