Default Starting problem.....

Hey.... I have a 96 D16Y8, I've had this car since 2/12 and never had any starting issues and it always ran strong, within the last 3 weeks I have notice that it was a little sluggish and then, 4 days ago my kid drove it and it left her stranded for over 4 hrs( it would not start) when I was able to make it to where she was at all the car would do was just turn over....now I could hear the fuel pump prime...so I had her crank the engine and I removed the gas cap and it started.....ever since then it sometimes will not start after driving it a few miles...Im gonna change the fuel filter to start...

I've heard of intermittant coils but from what I've seen regarding relay switches, they normally are either good or bad. Maybe someone with experience with those switches can chime in.

Have you checked for spark?? This same thing happened to me like last week haha. Ignition control module was my problem.

you can take both the coil and module to autozone to get checked, don't wanna buy parts you don't need..

if you hear the fuel pump kicking on then I would check for spark.
