Steering problem UPDATED

can say for 88 to 91 - guess it is the same.
get the fluid to the cold mark
start the engine and run at fast idle for about 3 to 5 minutes
turn the wheels from side to side without hitting the stops (in other words , do not go all the way).
return wheels to straight ahead postion and leave the car runnning for several more minutes.
road test
and then check and add fluid to the 'hot' mark

I don't see any mention of a bleeder screw in these instructions.

UPDATE.
Today when I returned to the car after work. I grabbed the steering as I adjusted the driver seat. The steering lock was still on because i still had the key in my hand, but the steering wheel was able to move about 3 inches right. WTF. I don't remember much free play before. What can be the cause and could it have a part in my steering problems.
