Default Still over heating

02 civic EX still over heating. Radiator and thermostat have been replaced. I was driving it today and the coolant splashed all over. I'm assuming it came out of the cap? My mechanic doesn't seem to know why it's over heating. Hoses have no cracks. I was told when the radiator pressurized the hoses are supposed to become somewhat hard, mine do not. They stay very flexible..I'm wondering if that might be a problem. Also, I am having to put water in the radiator every other day. It is not leaking from anywhere underneath, and it is not going into my motor, since my mechanic said it was not and my oil was fine..can it go in to anything else? Any info or help is very much appreciated.

I would suspect the thermostat, not properly air out the system and/or fan not turning on..

Idle your car with radiator cap off for 20 min or until the fan turn on and keep eye on your radiator coolant, add if need it.

Sounds like a head gasket to me. Very common problem with 7th gen's and hard to diagnose.

Do you have any issues starting the car after its been sitting over night?

Whats your exhaust pipe look like? Any white residue? It is possible you have a breached HG and are burning small bits of coolant, thats why you're having to add water, which btw, is not very good, you should always top off with a 50/50 mix, especially if you're adding some everyday. You don't want to dilute your coolant.

I would recommend a compression test, you can buy a tester for $30. Just make sure you pull your ECU fuse and disconnect your distributor wire harness so your distributor doesnt turn and your injectors dont dump fuel into the engine when you're testing it.
