HiGuys i have just bought a 1996 civic si, which has a strange idle or maybe it's supposed to be like that.
with the carstaionary idle is 800 rpm i pump the gas it returns to idle immediatly, as soon as i start moving and stop the car it stays at 1500 rpm for a couple of seconds and then returns to 800 rpm. is this normal or do i have aproblem? opinions please.

 

I believe it's normal, mine idles a little under 1000 rpm's. Has it stalled out at all, or the needle jumps around when idle?

 

No stalling at all,steady needle at 800 rpm. its just when driving and stop it seems to get stuck at 1500rpm for a couple of sec and then drops down to 800rpm again.
