Default Swap question, will it work?

Alright so this dude I know has a 2.3 motor out of a 98 accord...said he would let it go cheap....

Would it drop into my 1994 civic VX, and bolt up to my 5 speed tranny?

Everything looks to be the same, but I have only deal twith one other swap, (b18 in place of a d15 non vtec)....

Any help would be appreciated.

I have never heard of anybody putting a 2.3 liter accord engine in a civic before. And no your civic tranny will not bolt up to the accord engine. To be honest the b18 even though its smaller will put out about the same horse power (more if its a vtec engine) as the accord engine and be alot easier to swap.

Not a problem, what type of B18 is it?

The world's fastest SOHC is the 2.3 Accord motor, but it's in an Insight. 9.97sec. I would not bother with it. The H22 would be basically the same swap but about 60 more Hp. But hey, if you want a single cam torque monster, go for it.

So an H22 would drop in and bolt up to my trans? I figured that the 2.3 and an H22 would be the same as far as bolt patterns....

But hey I am learning all the time.

No. Nothing but another D is gonna bolt up to your tranny. And an H swap is pretty entailed as it involves cuttting and a pretty elaborate mount kit.
