Unfortunately no, there isn't a way around this unless you replace the cable. Are you 100% sure the cable is cut? Or is it possible that it's just disconnected?

well which cables been cut the one under the hood or under the dash?
if its just the one under the dash simply look under the glove box towards the center of the dash and move the linkage all the way towards you. now if its the one going to the engine bay im not sure which way is open... so youll just have to move the valve back and forth with the motor warmed up and feel for heat going thu the 2 heater hoses...
fairly simple really.or if thats to hot for you move it about half way to give ya medium temp.

the only 2 things it moves is a flapper door, and the valve behind the motor on the firewall.

As addiction recommended, manually open the valve on the firewall so that you have heat while waiting to fix the cable.

Is something loose inside?

Broken?

Do I need to remove the dash and heater core again?!
