throttle response! need help

Default throttle response! need help

So i cranked up my car today to take out for a spin (93 civic Ex d16z6) just immediately i notice that my throttle response wasn't there like it used to be. what i mean is i put in 1st gear press the accelarter all the way to floor and and it takes forever to get the rpm's up so that i can shift to 2nd and it does this all throughout the gears. what can it be guys i need help

well, your throttle body could be out of adjustment. try adjusting the two bolts next to the butterfly so the throttle cable will be tight. but be careful when adjusting to keep the idle at factory settings, so don't overtighten the cable. if the cable is already tight, then maybe some sort of tune up will suffice. but we need more info if you want more help.

p.s. it takes forever to accelerate because the car barely has 100whp, just in case you forgot.

Start by inspecting the throttle cable and checking its adjustment.

Especially if you haven't used the car for a while, mice may have moved into your intake. Open up the air filter box and see.

i feel real stupid but at least i found the problem. on the car i have a cold air intake and i asked my little cousin to take off the filter and clean it and install it back and what he did is put the air filter all the way in and the pipe that goes in it touched the bottom of the filter so it wasn't getting any air in it. oopss
