Default thump thump thump when turning slowly

98 Civic EX, 198k - While making sharp right turns at low speeds, I get a thump thump thump thump sound from underneath the front of the car, can't really determine which side. It seems to happen only when driving slow with sharp turns, such as pulling into a parking space or sharp, low speed cornering - but not always - and the only way i can consistently reproduce it is to go into a parking lot, crank the wheel all the way and go in slow ( <15 mph) circles. I replaced both halfshafts and the upper and lower ball joints on both sides last weekend, and that didn't fix it. There's no noticeable play in the wheel - so I think the bearings and tie rods are okay, and nothing appeared to be broken in the suspension. Any ideas?
