Default timing belt replacement?

hello, first time posting here and wanted opinions as to when i should change my timing belt and water pump for an 04 civic vp with 90k miles. manual shows 110k miles but dealer says 90k miles to be safe. if i wait do you think it'll be ok? a friend had his prelude belt break and it cost him $2500 so i am a little paranoid about it. thanks guys in advance

I would say change it when you get a chance. I mean you don't want your belt popping off and your engine catching hell all because you decided to delaying on changing it. Just change it..and you'll sleep much better :-)
