Default Timing issue?

Was driving my civic (D16Y8) when it started rattling really badly, pulled over by the time I pulled over it died, tried to restart it just seem to lose compression. Had it towed to the hose, let it sit, started right up with the loud rattling noise. Tried it again, now it acts like it is out of time, just spins over...any help would be greatly appreciated...

Yes, take off the upper timing cover, use a socket wrench to turn the crank to TDC, and see if the timing marks line up.
