Timing settings on a 2000 EX
Can someone suggest the proper way to adjust the timing, or at least tell me the settings on a 2000 Civic EX?
I'm not a big fan of visual settings and I feel that is what has been done.
I recently had the timing belt replaced and have a feeling it is not set properly.
Is there anyway to tell?
Thanks

bust out a timing light and have it checked.....
jump the computer hook up the timing light to it and start it up and point it at the crank pulley......
if you want to do any work to your own civic i would HIGHLY SUGEST buying a HILTONS manual for your car!
it has MANY MANY good mechanical HOW TOs..... worth every penny of the book!

check the timing marks on the cam and crank pully and YES, check the timing with a timing light.... buy the manuel and a timing light.... you can get a cheap one for like 25-30 bucks and if your going to be working on cars it will come in handy often.
if your gonna use a digital time gun set it to 15 degrees. stock for your civic is 16 degr. if not a digital gun use a regular one and line up the red mark on the pulley with the pointer on the cam covers. the red mark is the one that is in the middle of a grp of 3 marks/lines on the pulley
