Hi everyone. I am new to this site and have a general question so thought I would come to the experts for it.
I have a 1997 Honda Civic DX Coupe that has NO POWER STEERING!!

I got a great deal on this car about a year ago, but the only problem with the car was the lack of power steering.
I was told that this specific year/model did not come with it. Is there any truth to this ?

I eventually got used to it and drove it for about a year. I am now trying to sell the car but I am running into difficulties because of this. Does not having power steering decrease the value significantly ? Can I get it added to my car ?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Yes, that model did not come with power steering. It's an economy model.

The price of adding power steering would not be worth it in terms of resale value, unless you can find a junked Ex and do all of the work yourself. Look at it this way- a lot of people take out their power steering on purpose becasue of the weight and 2-3Hp drag, so you have a headstart.

 

i prefer a manual rack to power steering, there is better feel and response
