Talking TPS Codes Help

My car is a 97 Sedan 5 speed I had a mechanic do some work on my car today, he hooked it up to a computer because I was having idling problems. The first was simple IACV code which was kinda expected after reading several post on HCF. But my car also threw some more codes TPS, and some sort of Engine knocking code, I went to the local parts store and they said they dont have a replacement part for TPS, what should I do or how do I fix this. Also the Engine knocking code, what is it and what does it pertain to. Would the IACV code cause my car to throw these two other codes, my CEL does not stay on thats why Im kinda surprised about these codes. Any advice about these codes would be greatly appreciated.

Does the CEL work (turns ON for 2 seconds and then OFF when key is turned to ON(II)?

Post the specific codes. Sounds like IACV, TPS, and knock sensor codes. What engine do you have?

First clear the codes from the ECU to determine whether any return. This is done by removing the 7.5A under-hood BACKUP fuse for 1 minute and then reinserting. Drive the car and, if the CEL turns ON, pull the codes again (see link in my signature). If the CEL and codes don't return and you don't have any engine problems, then you are good to go.

Actually yes my CEL does come on in the ON II position, what exactly is the TPS and Knock Sensor code.

Does the CEL eventually turn OFF or does it remain ON?

The codes indicate problems in these two circuits:

TPS = throttle position sensor -- measures the amount of intake air so that the ECU can determine the optimal amount of fuel to inject into the cylinders.

Knock sensor -- "listens" for engine knock so that the ECU can adjust the ignition timing to avoid engine damage and to optimize performance.

Are you having engine problems?

No engine problems at all, my CEL does turn off I get about 32 highway miles to the gallon so I would guess my TPS is working because its supplying the correct amount of air otherwise my fuel ratio would be down. Can these two sensors be bought, and would they be dealer parts?

You are getting ahead of yourself. It's possible that there is no problem at all. Just clear the ECU. The CEL and codes may not return.
