Default Tranny/cv-axle problem

I recently got a 95 civic with a 5-speed tranny... the car starts out in first great once its hits about 3000 rpm i get a clicking sound that seems like its coming from the front passenger side cv-axle the clicking stays with it but changes tone with the engine rpm and goes all the way into 5th... only time it doesnt make that sound is if its starting from first and from a complete stop... i jacked up the car and took the wheel off the cv-boots arent ripped or anything but the joint that connects into the tranny has play in it and the otherside doesnt... anyone got any ideas? would a cv-axle click while driving straight or is it transmission problems

Default RE: Tranny/cv-axle problem

Clicking noises in that area are normally from the CV joints. If you have standard wheels though I'd check for a stone in the wheel cover area.
