Tranny Makes noise when clutch is engaged
Okay,
My transmission makes a weird noise when in gear, doesnt happen all the time but often, and not always on the same gear. The noise almost sounds like a diesel engine, like an old bmw or mercedes.
I was informed by one of my buddies it might be the throwout bearing. Does this sound right, or can it be more serious. My baby is a 2000 Civic Ex Coupe with 108k. I just bought it so i dont know if it has had regular maintenance.

Doesn't sound like a bad throwout to me.
A throwout can make noise when the clutch is engaged (no load on the throwout) but its because the races are loose and you get a shhhhhhhh sound. It happened to me.
Typically the throwout makes noise when you disengage the clutch and put load on the throwout.
Sounds like something internal to the trans unfortunately.
