Default Turn signals

My self cancellation has stopped working on my 96 EX. Turn signals still work, they just don't turn off anymore when the wheel straightens out. I'm guessing its the cold weather possibly broke the tripping device on the steering column. Is this something I can fix myself? There is an airbag.

You'll have to replace your combination switch if you want the self canceling to work again. It's not too hard.

6th generation civics are notorius for their cancelation turn switches. They work on and off until they finally break. The only thing to do is replace it. You need to take the panels off the steering column, but you don't need to remove the steering wheel or the airbag.

if I were you, i'd go to junk yard and pick up one for $20+. I got the wiper combination switch for $20 off of a '92 and it still works fine with my '98. so you have at least 2 generations to choose from.

Default Thanks

Gentelman thank you for your feed back. I most likey will wait for warmer weather but will follow through, including checking with the wrecking yard.
