Default type r gauge

I bought a Type R gauge and as I was installing it I noticed that the Type R gauge has an orange connector in the back left side, instead of the green on the right from the original. What is the orange connector used for and how can I connected it, or is it even needed. Any help is appreciated, thank you

I would just connect it and see if it works. if it works then hammer down, if not then... dunno what to say.
