2007 Honda Civic just decided NOT to show travelling speed, hand brake light is on, engine check on ... ABS on ...

It runs normally , starts normally - but the dashboard is going nuts.

Plugged in ODB scanner and read code U0155 - communication failure with "instrument module" .

Proceeded with "recommended remedy " disconnect battery for 5 minutes.

Same stuff - but the ODB scanner no longer works !


No ODB "experts " on web say - bad ground on "IPM" instrument panel module (?)


But they do not say WHERE is this module?

Can somebody give me a hit , from actual experience preferred? I can "guees" by myself :


1. where is this module

2. where do I find PROBABLE missing / intermittent ground connection for it ?


This is most recent electrical problem with 100000 miles plus Honda.

The gas gauge goes nuts intermittently missing last two or three "empty" segments .

Somtimes it shows exact opposite tank "state" - the two or three segments on "full" scale are ON , while the rest of it - down to "empty:" - is dark! (No recall ?)

After dealer changed the recalled passenger (?) side air bag - the radio intermittently works ONLY on RIGHT FRONT door - no place else !


My educated guess - I am missing ground - the question - WHERE?


Live in Huston - no salt on roads here !

Please - serious replies only - " no check the brake fluid etc "..

Appreciate any help leading to resolution BY FIXI'N it myself.
