Angry UPDATE on 90 Civic fuel issue

I just wanted to UPDATE on the problem with our 90 Civic that back in December had quit on us. I finally got it to a shop & today they called to tell me the FUEL PUMP was bad.
It was suppose to of been replaced last July. But no telling with the shop that did it.
I have a question has anyone else had a New Pump go bad in 6 months & 11,000 miles??? What is the life of a replacement pump??? I have never owned a vehicle with an in tank electric pump that ever fail except for one, our Blazer & it was going out when I bought it USED. We never run our tanks below a 1/4 of a tank. Because I know that it is the gas that cools the pumps. If you run them empty enough times you are going to overheat them & one day they burn out. I know my mother never ran this car below 1/4 tank since new. I figure that is why it lasted 20 years. But 6 month on an Airtex Pump isn't GOOD.
