upgrading to vtec

Default upgrading to vtec

hi, i have a civic coupe 1998 non vtec. i have a donor car whith the same engine but the vtec version.what parts will i need to make my coupe vtec?? would i just need to change the entire head?or will i need the ecu ect?

well im planning on doing the same thing as you. i have a dx. i know you have to change the entire head. you can get a z6 or a y8. but you wont have to get a new ecu. you just have to mess with the wiring on it.

i would just get a new ecu i think its a p28 and u will beed the harnest also and ur head z6 or z8

If the other engine is in good shape, swap the whole engine rather than messing with taking the heads off. Also you'll need the ECU and harness from the VTEC car.
