Default Urgent help needed - removing the control arm 01 civic

Hey guys, thank you very much for a speedy reply in advance, if applicable...

I'm doing a ball joint job on my 01 civic lx. I have the steering knuckle off no problem, but the lower control arm is a different story.

The inner metal part of the front lca bushing rusted completely onto the bolt. The rubber between the inside and the outside of the bushing separated entirely. The damn bolt just doesn't want to come out of the subframe. This is on the passenger side, so i don't even have good access to it from inside the hood.

Is there a trick to getting the two apart? Any advice would be much appreciated. My concern is that the work is being done on the street, and a cop already stated that if i don't get the job done on the double, i'm getting towed. Serves me right.

Thanks guys.

Yea dude, you shouldn't be doing suspension work in places you can get towed. the inner bushing rusting to the bolt is almost garunteed on the rear LCA's and sometimes happens on the fronts. Look up rear LCA bushing seized or similar and there are tons of info on how to deal with it. Its usually a big PITA because the bolts are hardened and you need to cut them and basically get a new LCA, or press new bushings in... good luck. Buy a sawsall!!
