Default washer pump question

Hello,

I replaced my winshield washer pump recently, as I had not been getting any spray. I ran it for a minute on a couple of occassions following the repair, but had no luck (so I figured replacing the pump was the wrong repair to try). I just tried again today and got fluid immediately! Would it take several minutes to get the pump to give me fluid? Or do I maybe have a finicky switch that likes to semotimes work and other times not? I have experienced the intermitent wipers acting that way over the past 6 months or so. Thanks for your thoughts,

Andrew

Are the nozzles on the hood new, too? They might be clogged.

No, they're probably the original set. The fluid is coming out fine now, though, so I don't think that was the issue.

My guess is that the switch is bad. Next time they don't work, listen closely if the motor is running.

Is that a pretty easy DIY, if it turns out being the problem?
