weird acceleration
hey whats up,
i've noticed that when i accelerate sometimes especially in 2nd and 3rd gear, my car seems like it has no power and feels like it is "trying to catch up with itself......?" Its kinda hard to explain, but instead of a smooth increase in speed, its like it is almost pausing for like half a second between 2k and 3k rpm a few times. I know thats a horribledescription but its the best i can do.Does anyone kno wtf this is and how i can fix it? Thanks

has any maintenence been done to it recently? check there 1st. it could bea hundred things? have you tried running any injector cleaner or replace the fuel filter? what type of car any how many miles? how long has it been doing this? since your last fill up maybe? could be bad gas?
actually i just bought the car and the guy before me recently had almost $2000 of repair work done at the honda dealership. From the looks of the papers he gave me, they went over and fixed everything that was wrong with the car from the timing belt. It only does it sometimes, and it has been doing it the last couple days. Its a 1999 civic ex with about 107k on it.
Honda's don't have good power in the lower rpm's,there could be nothing wrong with it at all. Thats how they get good gas mileage. If when you get up to 3000 rpm's and you feel a kick in the power fine there prolly isn't anything wrong with it. You can get a 4-2-1 header to help a little bit in the lower and mid power output.
I would run some cleaner through your engine like chevron techron in the gas and seafoam through your intake manifold, that would help with studdering.
