Pretty straight forward question, just wonder what brand people use here. I personally use purolator with valvolene high mileage. I heard purolator has better flow rates so thats why I went with them.

Napa Gold Filter. Royal Purple oil. $$$ But worth it for the full synthetic.

 

Word, seriously considering going synthetic though.

 

For regular maintenance OEM filters and valvoline or penzoil on a leased car or one you don’t plan to keep. For a car you are going to keep for a long time, then Amsoil filter and oil, mobil 1 filter and oil, napa gold filter, Purolator filter. These are the top ones I recommend from personal experience and lots of research.

I sometimes drive the **** out of my car so I use fram synthedic filter, moble 1 synthedic oil and I mix a whole bottle of lucas synthedic oil stableizer with the 4.4 l bottle of moble.

 

I use whatever is cheapest at the time at the local parts store (Kragen or Pep Boys).
Change every 5K miles.

Lately it's Purolator and Chevron oil.

Been doing this for 21 years on my Porsche and it has 175K miles. Of course it's a Porsche so YMMV.

 

it depends on how long im going to drive it. and what im going to do. in the winter i use just plain old oil and an AC DELCO filter. in the summer when i autocross n such, i use synthetic and.... an AC DELCO filter.

 

i heard that if u run on non-synthetic oil for a while and then switch to synthetic that it will cause all kinds of leaks and problems. i dunno if its true but it kinda makes sense. I use FRAM filters with Castrol high mileage oil, cheap and good quality.
