Hey millcivic you said you need to have your oil changed by honda because of the car being under warranty. If you change your own oil, it will not void your warranty. You just need to keep your receipts of the oil and filter and any other parts you get so if there is a question about the car being abused you have proof. Look at this file from the Honda website on warranty.

Look at the first paragraph on page 41. It saids specifically that service at a dealer is not manadatory for continued warranty coverage. It is the same for all car manufactures.
By the way I use Purolator filter and Mobil1 oil. I also think Lucas oil is a waste of money.

Don't Waste Money on Lucas
Lucas oil stabilizer is simply a heavy weight petroleum oil blended with a high level of low grade viscosity improver additive.
You can accomplish the same goal less expensively by simply upgrading your oil JUST A LITTLE (if you're using petroleum oil) and bumping up to a one grade higher viscosity (ie. 10w30 to 10w40).
If you're already using a high quality synthetic, adding Lucas oil stabilizer is actually a DOWNGRADE of what's already in your crankcase, since you're turning a full synthetic oil into a blend and your including low quality viscosity index improvers that are likely not needed or are already in the oil and of higher quality.
Don't waste your money.

K&N oil filter, Royal Purple oil.
I've had my car for nearly 3 years, not sure what previous owner ran, but I've been on synthetic since, has 140k miles on it right now and no leaks or any other kinds of problems.
I also run Lucas engine treatment/cleaner(goes in gas tank, not with engine oil) every other month or so(I drive about 1000 miles a month)
