i drive a 96 civic lx and i hit 7000 rpms daily, also a short ram intake takes in warmer air not hot air. a short ram is damn near the same as ur stock intake for air temp, but u get rid of the restrictive airbox assembly, there is no down side to a short ram intake vs a cold air. and the where are the header question i wont even touch. if u dont know where ur exhaust is then i dont think u should be driving a 07' civic.

i personally am going to do a greddy evo2 catback exhaust, a high flow cat off ebay, and for a header idk if i will get my friend to make me a custom 4-2-1 or just buy a cheap ebay one for the hell of it.

a lot of people will probably yell at me for saying this, but if you really don't want to go through all the work then just squeeze some nitrous on a stock engine

i'm using fifty shots on my stock 96 dx hatch and nothing is wrong, i'm pretty sure it adds about twenty horsepower also

of course, nitrous will work better if you do intake, header, and exhaust, but for the simple increase of 20 hp, nitrous should be fine.

just make sure someone teaches you how to properly use it so you don't blow up the damn thing

and if you really don't know, a header is the exhaust manifold on the other side of the intake manifold, but if i remember correctly, the new r18 engines on the new civics have an internal header so i don't think you'll be able to change it, i'm not sure though

Oh ok paul cause I dont know where the header is means I shouldnt be driving a car, that makes sense... You gotta learn somewhere. I know where the exhaust is.

thats part of the exhaust. the 1st part. didnt say u shouldnt b driving just that ur mommy and daddy shouldnt have bought u a 07 civic if u dont know simple plain car basics. u should learn that **** playing video games or watching car videos or even reading a tuner magazine.

which means you have done nothing of that sort. so Y? do u want 20 more horeses. since you know nothing it sounds like u just want it for the hell of it. cuz it sounds cool.

SINCE you got cash just look up vroombox and have fun with that. k thx

My dad is dead. Died almost 8 years ago.I bought this car.I am 21 years old... Yes I do play video games but telling me I should know this stuff about cars when I only gotmy car not even a month ago is just retarded.

BTW last car I had was a 97 hyundai accent. Not like I was gonna be working on exhausts and headers on that POS.

Well if you wanna start adding on performance, the best way is I/H/E like everyone says. Then later on down the road, if you want more power, you can add more stuff. Horsepower gains are a little different on each car.

5-digit RPM = 1-,--- RPM. see it's 5 digits, not five thousands. digit /= thousand

So, you had a Hyundai Accident before, eh? That's a pretty big step up.

The exhaust header is integrated into the cylinder head in the 2007 Civic engine. You will need a new cylinder head that is ported for performance. You will have to wait a while before that happens. Until then, enjoy the good fuel economy.

again u never watched tuner vision, or read a tuner magazine, or even read a performance mag ever? seriously never looked at cars that were cool. b4 i was 16 i could tell u parts of motors and how to fix things. so has nothing to do about age. i changed my first alternator on my 4 wheeler when i was 9 . eh but w/e its common knowledge when they teach the **** in a class at school. ur 21 so unless ur a nerd u had to **** off in highschool and u took electives. idk w/e i am done

that's what what i thought, i remember reading an article in hondatuning that talked about the r18 engine you have that has the header inside the cylinder head. so impreza is right, you can't do the normal intake, header, exhaust setup for beginners, and i guarantee you that a cold air intake and exhaust will not give you twenty horsepower.

although paul was a little forward, he is ultimately right. but you are also right, because people have to begin somewhere. i'm only seventeen and i still remember the time, only a couple years ago, that i didn't even know what headers were. but as i said, paul was right, after i subscribed and read import tuner, honda tuning, and import racer cover to cover, and now also dsport, modified, and project car, i definitely learned a lot. so a suggestion, you should definitely subscribe to at least honda tuning, i ensure you that you'll find several articles about your civic, although most will probably be of the si, but it's still learning.

anywayz, as i've stated that you can't change the header, it may even be pointless to do an intake since i read that your intake manifold is plastic, definitely a negative aspect. so i either suggest that you go all out and switch the whole manifold if you can find one and maybe some internal work with and exhaust, or simply follow my first advice and find a nitrous kit for like 400 dollars or so, i got mine used from a friend for 250.a simple wet kit with 50 shots will almost definitely give you at least twenty more horse you can probably even install it yourself, it's pretty simple as long as you know simple wiring, and since your intake manifold is plastic, you can easily drill the whole through it for the nitrous. what i love about nitrous is that i can still run it stock and keep the good economy most of the times

tell me if you like the nitrous idea, if not, i'll think of something else for you to do
