Default Where Is the Speedometer Sensor on a 1994 Civic CX?

Hi,

Our speedometer sensor on our 1994 Civic CX is kicking out periodically. We recently purchased the car and were told that a new one was put in recently at Honda. We believe this to be the case. It was working fine for the first few days we bought it, but then after washing the car and getting *way* to much water into the engine area accidentally, it started to kick out. We're thinking it's possible (maybe not likely, but possible) that that excessive amount of waterhas caused it to lose contact periodically. Sort of like if one were to spill liquid on the TV remote. That you would need to open it up and dry it off toget itto work properly again.

Anyway,we've done plenty of repairs on our previous car, which was an older Subaru, but this is quite a different animal and we just don't know where certain things are. We have a repair manual that shows a graphic of the speedometer sensor, but not where it actually is on the car. Is it possible for someone to tell us in a bit of detail *where* the speedometer sensor is located on this vehicle? That would be extremely helpful to us.

The Hans

Speed sensor is on the top of the Transmission. but it may also be your cluster too, cause i have an intermittent issue with the speedometer not working and it turned out to be the cluster. just got a new one and works fine now

We found it, so thanks. But after a bit of TLC, it still cuts out intermittently. What is the "cluster" that you are referring to here? I also noticed people mentioning that on other threads about this speedometer issue. Do you mean the cluster of instruments on the panel or something like that? Could you please clarify? Thanks!
