97 hatchback dx
even when I put it to cold air with the a/c on it still blows hot air. ideas?

 

Hmmm... maybe you need to recharge your A/C?
Do you have coolant in your radiator?

 

Check that the heater valve on the firewall closes when you turn the dial from hot to cold. There are two mechanical cables involved, one from the dial to a mechanism on the bottom of the heater box (in the center of the car under the dash), and another from that mechanism to the valve.
