winter fuel mileage drop
1999 Civic Hatchback DX,,auto ,59k miles In summer just driving around town , 28-30mpg. Winter about a 7- 9 mpg drop !! I don't warm the car up that long. Car starts /runs good.
Seems extreme . Any thoughts ? Thanks, Dave

i'm gonna assume there isn't a CEL on the dash for this because faulty o2 sensors will definitely do that to your fuel economy.
it could be:
-running the heat in the car on startup (or before it's at operating temp)
-high RPMs on winter cold starts
-a little bit of a lead foot (i'm guilty of this)
-the car trying desperately to get up to operating temp
all of this depends on how cold it gets where you are.
