I bought my hatch 3 months ago and started doing some mods...i was wondering if i can get some insight on doing a d16z6 swap...i bought an engine harness obd1 same with the intake system and a p28 ecu...i need some advice on how to install all of this and also i know i need a new dizzy and alternator...do i also need a new starter...its all getting converted to obd1 from obd0....

 

Are you swapin the whole motor or are you mini me which is just the z6 head swap?Did you try to search it on this forum I think there has been alot already written about it on the forum.Whats the year and motor already in the car?

 

you need to get the engine in the car. it will bolt in, use the drivers side mount off the old engine on the new one. (you will have to modilfy the timing cover a little on the z6 to make it fit) the front coolant inlet on the z6 need to be changed with the old one its on the head close to the dizzy. use the same tranny, clutch and flywheel. you will need to convert to mpfi from dpfi unless its an already mpfi. use the obd1 injectors off the z6 if you don't have a resistor box because it is not needed. get an obd0- obd1 conversion harness from www.rywire.com or www.boomslang.us they run like 100-130 dollars. you will run the same obd0 engine harness but will have to modify it to work with the obd1 engine harness the instructions come with the conversion harness. you will need an 88-91 si throttle cable.
