RE: 97 Civic EX questions
If you buy parts new, by the time you get done with I/H/E, intake manifold and throttle body, you could have boost with the money that you spend. Why dont' you want to boost?
A lot of people are quite satisfied with the ever progressing results of bolt-ons though. Couple hundred bucks here, 5 or 6Hp there. It's fun, and addictive. Don't let md420 discourage you, he rocks the D series too. Start with the stuff you can afford, stay on here and poke around and ask questions. Most of us started with a simple intake, and wnet from there.

right now my plans arnt to fully deck this car out...my true hears lies with a Toyota TT supra..but i cannot afford one till after college...this is mainly a car to learn all the basics on and get more mechanic experience....although in the end i might wind up adding a SC or turbo when its all said and done after the bolt ons
