98 LX 4dr electric door locks
The electric door locks( not keyless entry)stopped working on daughters 98 lx.4dr. A quick look at fuses seems to indicate that if a fuse problem other obvious things would be out. Q. Is there a typical failure point I should start at?Is there a safety shut off I'm missing?
If you have a tester you can kind of jack around in the fuse pannel checking to see if there is any current going through the pannel at the location of the door fuses. You can pick one up at almost any auto store, or Wal-mart, cheapest ones use the little dial and are around 12 bucks or so.
Remember there are 2 pannels in most civics and accords, one under the hood, 1 under the dash. If you can find a diagram online somewhere, or if you still have the factory insert in the fuse box it should help you locate the one you need.
Also, sometimes those older door lock buttons get lots of dust in them. If you wiggle them back and forth about 20-30 times really fast, sometimes they will start working again. It's just one of those things that comes with time. Might be worth a shot.
