im new here with alota questions...but 1st i need to kno how can i tell which engine i hav...see i brought 94 LX($900) with a crackd engine block n had a guy my friend knows put in a different one. the guy told me it was from a 96 civic put never gave me any documentation so i could varify it. can anyone help me to i.d. my engine

 

if its from a 96 civic, id say its more than likely a d15b engine.

 

there is a stamp on the block. next to the transmission.. that will have the engine code..

if it is from a '96 civic, it is either D16Y5 ([VTEC-E] HX) D16Y7 (DX, LX), or D16Y8 ([VTEC]-EX)
