nice-lookin' EF hatch.

go for some window tint. $100 - $200.

then wax your paint job to make it nice and shiney to make your tint stand out even more. $free if you already have some.

and then start saving up for some:

1. lowering springs $100 - $200

2. new rims - $200 - $400

3. new tires if you're gonna get larger rims $200 - $800

4. and then a bumpinAssed stereo system to make other doods jealous. lol. $1,000 roughly.
hmmm... i set of car alarms with mine for fun...$280....slightly used.. by the way, its FOR SALE! pm for details

Yeah Guys All this stuff will get him 500 hp !!
For all you know he wants a sleeper. You ricers give us a bad name.
go take your rundown jalopy somewhere else, you closet ricer.

he asked for upgrade advice and we're given it to him.

reading comprehension pwnz...
Yeah, i really don't see how a good wax, window tint, lowering springs and rims makes someone a damn ricer... It will make his car look clean as hell. and it'll still be classified as a sleeper IMO. It's not like we're telling him to put a ridiculous looking wing on it or an over the top body kit. No! tint, springsand wheels bro!!!!!

i see you got the window tint. good job.

now about that bondo... lol.

just get a really nice paint job if you can afford it.

even if you can't afford it, a decent paint job will still turn heads.

just make sure you keep it washed and waxed and clean.

shiny cars make the prettiest cars.

I just got a 97 civic, and I have been doing my research on cheap stuff. I have limited funds myself, so I am looking to make the biggest look with what I "Don't" Got.

My list looked something like this:

Tint: $120.00
Short-Ram Intake- $30.00 (ebay)
Projector headlight assembly replacement - $80 - 200 (ebay)
Tail light replacement assembly - $35.00 shipped (ebay)
Rims *to come later* 800 shipped with tires, online stores
Interior, Pedals, 20-30 bucks
Interior, Underdash LED's, get some light in there, that 1 factory roof light is dim $15.00 shipped (ebay)

Those are some little cosmetic things I decided to roll with, My car is black, which is where your going, so I like the chrome housings on my lights to make them stand out, then maybe later some little cheap decal work, or a nice hood with a few logo's on the door, not too flashy, but sweet.

Look around, ebay is a great way to windowshop, and you can find online vendors with better quality gear if you don't like what you see there. You can do a ton to a honda from ebay alone without breaking the bank.

forgive me, i'm a noob too :-)

I have about $750 in stereo in mine, Sony CDX-FW700 head unit, Sony 1000 watt amp, Pioneer 4way 6-1/2"s and a Kicker s10l7 solo baric sub and two lightning audio tweeters. It sounds awesome, and personally that was my best addition yet to my car. It's got enough bass to visibly vibrate the windshield if that says anything...
those kicker solo barics are retarded loud...but if i had a bigger car, that didnt react so much to weight, id get 2...

The great thing about civics is the airspace in the car. I once heard a pair of 8 inch free-air subs mounted in a guys back dash that outdrove some of the nicer twin 12 packages in a larger car.

I drove a dodge for a while, big clunky crapper, but it was a 2000 and i liked it, until the engine blew just shy of 130k, the same subs I have now were in that car and you had to crank them up to full power and bass boost on the amp just to hear it. In the civic, my bass on my head unit never hits -2 on a -7 to +7 setting band, and I actualy had to turn the gain down about 25% just to tollerate them. It's a tight bass package any route you take.
