So im getting a 90s model civic hatchback. I am pretty much new to I4 engines. I have been building high performance v8's for a while but i figured it was time for a change so....i get a civic lol. I kinda wanna build a performance car and the guy i am getting the car from pretty much said that i have to start from ground zero so...you will mostlikely be seeing lots of posts from me about trying to find performance parts or what parts are best but if anyone knows what kinda motor i can build a lot of power on let me know i heard k20 and a LS with a v-tec head???? Help would be appreciated. Thanks and my name is Travis by the way

Welcome to the forum, there's ons of different platforms to go from to make power. Some motors are better for turbo, some are better for all motor. Biggest thing to figure out where you will go witht he car is budget and power goal. Glad to see you over to the i4's over v8 lol!

Welcome. 5th gen hatch is a good platform to start with.

If you want some solid advice, you have to set goals. What sort of power are you looking to make? Do you want more power at the sake of fuel economy, or is that still very important? Do you have a budget for this build? We can all make suggestions but we need to know how much you are willing to spend.

if you swap to a vtec dual cam, the first time you walk a camaro or gt from a stoplight, you might be over them. i was.

hey, i recently bought an 87 civic hatchback DX. i got it for less than 200 bucks cause the guy i got it from couldnt get it running. 6 minutes into the shop it was runnin like a champ. all it needs now is a brake booster. theres a vacuum leak. im lookin to almost completely re-do the interior. i already have a new head unit, subs, and im about to get new side markers. anyway i was wondering if any one out there had any tips for carpet and interior paint and center consoles for it. i want cheap durable interior parts.. any help?
