Default Generic Intro Thread (help me plz)

So im sure you guys see like a million of these threads, im sure your sick of them. So ill try to ****e this one up a bit so its enjoyable for the small percent of you forum users who read the newby boards.

Anyways the name is Nick and im 18. Im looking into buying a used Civic this spring with about $10 grand I saved up. However im new to the Civic world....and to be honest the nice car world in general. For the past 2 years ive drove a beat up $500 dollar Toyota 4-Runner that leaks every fluid I put in it and just looks like ****. I cant wait until this spring when I get a nice car with good gas mileage, a non rusted body and nice paint. I will be ricing this car out, just to be 100% honest.

However I digress, I come here because I have a ton of questions.

Do you think I can get a 2006 civic for about 10 grand?

is it hard to learn how to wire your car? I think the first thing im going to do to my car is put fog lights in.

What should I look for in buying a used civic? What are signs of a bad car? im not talking in general terms but rather what are some civic things I need to look for?

any advice in general you can shed on Civic purchasing I would appreciate. Even a link to a good civic site would be cool.

first off welcome to HCF, and to answer some of your questions. yes you can find a 2006 civic around the 10k range. in fact looks like 2006 civics are hanging around the $10,000 mark more or less. wiring foglights are not too hard, if you know how to do it or find a DIY and follow it. As for what to look for i'm not too sure about that years civics. also look around on craigslist to look around for civics in your area

For 10K, you could buy an older Civic and have money for mods.

Welcome to the forum.
