RE: help a domestic guy out
i drive a 95 cavalier..and i live near charlotte NC..i know anything is possible with enough money but lets face it, not many people have that kinda money. personally ive put a bit over 3K in my N/A engine, which even for my kinda car is pretty rare without haveing forced induction, but then again im not looking for the rare, ,,so can all those engines fit in a civic pretty easy? i know when i was stock those h22 and k20's always gave me trouble so i cant imagine how theyd be in a civic

RE: help a domestic guy out
There is bolt in kits for all of those engines for any 92+ civic. And any 88-91 needs the same kit and a hammer to dent the fender and fire wall about an inch.
If you are in cali it seems like every other civic has a swap. It getting rediculas.
So have you run it at the track?

RE: help a domestic guy out
I am a ex J body owner myself. I owned a 97 Z with some mods (more appreance then motor) but I ran contsent 14.8's and at best pulled a 14.6 but now I own a 1990 hatchback (see July ROTM for specs) and I'm currently dropping a B16A1 into the engine bay. The B16A1 is a similar motor that comes in the US 99 - 00 Civic Si's but is the Japan verison that comes in the JDM 90 - 91 Civic SiR's. Its 160HP and 111ft/lbs torque motor and with my total vehicle weight with me as a driver (I weigh 160lbs) is between 1800 - 2000lbs (I have a lot of some ripped out of the interior. With no mods to the motor I will be running high 14's and with some bolt on mods I can bring that into the low 14s easily. With a turbo kit and some tunning on the dyno I can be into the high 13s easily. Now I start stepping up fuel upgrades, valve train work and cams and cam gears I can easily hit low 13's possibly very high 12's. Then I can always add the bottle!!!!
