Hi everyone. I'm the proud new owner of a 2003 Civic Si i-vtec with 47,000miles. It even still has that new car smell. I bought it from my brother-in-law and he suggested I check out the forum here for good info and opinions. This is my first Honda.

I'm looking for some info regarding adding an after market alarm system to the car. I noticed that the manual says nothing should be added to the Immobiliser anti-theft system, but I wonder if an alarm without a remote starter would be fine.

I'm about to dig into the forum, but if anyone reading this has experience with/suggestions for adding an after market alarm, do let me know. I live in a pretty rough area and I'd hate for anything to happen to this car! (Theft and vandalism insurance is already taken care of, but I'd prefer that something like that be prevented instead of paid for later).

I don't have experience with alarms but shops can do pretty much anything.
