Honda Newbie
Hey guys, Matt here. 1st time import owner...gotta be honest I've always been an American car owner but I got a new job which requires one heck of a drive and the 05 Ford F-150 4X4 getting on a good day 18mpg highway just wasn't cutting it.
So I picked myslef up a 1994 Honda Del Sol Si and although it needed quite a few things I have now grown quite fond of the car. It gets double the gas mileage, and only has 150k on her. Not too shabby for an almost 20 year old car.
I've always been a car guy, my first rod build when I was 20 was an 82 Camaro Z28 pushing 350hp to the wheels, sold that and I'm currently rebuilding a 72 Chevy Nova w/ a small block 350. I'm also an avid motorcycle rider and currenly have an 06 Suzuki SV650S and a 78 Suzuki GS1000. I wouldn't mind selling both and getting myself a Suzuki Boulevard M109R but hey one thing at a time, lol.
To date the Del Sol has a Neuspeed Header and Greddy Cat Back Exhaust System, an AEM cold air intake, Acura Integra GSR Leather Seats, I just installed coil overs on her yesterday, 16 inch Momo Wheels, New CV axles, New ECM, New rear struts, New battery, New starter, and who knows I lost track lol...
Well anywho there's a few things I can't figure out which is why I'm here to hopefully get a lil help, and say well hello...I look forward to hearing from all of you at one time or another
And here's a pic of the old lady...

She's not much, but shes in great shape for her age, and well almost 100% reliable, lolol.

Welcome aboard! Nice looking Del Sol, too. Sounds like you've had some interesting cars in your garage, as well. Back in high school, a guy in my class had what was probably a '73-'74 Nova (I seem to remember it having the more squared rear side window) with a warmed-over 327, and it was pretty fierce.
I also appreciate your choice of the SV650! I used to work in a bike shop, and always liked them (make mine the non-S version, though). The V-twin engine always had a great sound.
But you might want to re-think the M109. They're great straight-line cruisers, and they're pretty to look at, but everything else is a struggle. Plus, maintenance on them gets pretty expensive (oil changes take 10 quarts, tires are wicked expensive), and the early ones had a few recalls. I've been out of the scene for a few years, so I don't know if they've gotten any better, though.

Thanks for the warm welcome and I appreciate the heads up with the M109R. Didn't realize there were so many issues. I rode one during Bike week this year and fell in love, guess I should do some more research on it first. Well thanks for the kind works and ttyl :-)
I was on craigslist when I saw a picture of a del sol for sale that eerily looked like yours!
