Tonight in my 02 SI I raced an 03 Miata, I got the si up to around twenty five hundred rpms (redlines at eight) and took off. The miata had rpms around four thousand and redlines at eight also. When we took off we were neck and neck, and into the shift into second I pulled away a little bit, but we were still damn close. I have some mods done to my car and the miata is stock. I know if we did a sixty mile an hour pull i'd kill him because of engine size, but I kinda feel upset because I thought i'd have more motor than this. Granted the miata has no weight what so ever do yall think this is normal, or do I just have a slower car? When the vtec kicked in i'd always get a little more launch on him, and probably into fourth i'd be ahead, but still it was upsetting even though I know the car is powerful maybe I just made it up to be a little faster than it is.....?

was there a question in there couldn't tell i don't know weight equals horespower every 7 pounds equalls one horsepower i think......good job

 

power to weight ratio is found by power divided by weight. ur cars estimated weight=2800lbs give or take and power=170 or so since u say u have some mods...his est weight=2400 give or take and power=145 or so... do the math and it seems like it would boil down to a drivers race.
