haven't been here a while, but need help with a 2000 civic engine removal, never done a honda or front wheel drive, plenty of other cars, trucks, motorcycles, but looks like i need an engine for my civic that i got back from my son. has a manual transmission, and i am pretty confident i can do it myself. any one in the baltimore area willing to help for money or trade for 4 HFP 16 inch rims (which are for sale) let me know. picture of rims are in my garage.

I wouldn't be of any real use to you other than moral support (the engines I've done were motorcycles and Miatas), but I think I have a Haynes manual if you want to look through it. I'm out in Carroll County.

Or if you don't want to tackle it, I know a great Honda mechanic (he used to be a pro driver, too) towards Annapolis who would probably be able to knock it out quickly at a great price.

 

thanks, maybe you could get me his name, the shop around here wants to put in a new jasper engine for $3000, prompting me to do it myself. i figure if i can get the old one out, get a decent one with a new belt and water pump, then putting it back in should be fairly easy.
