RE: New to this forum...
Ahh...the GT(mine anyway) is 35 years old and looks like a super mini corvette, you can find all the pics you want at www.opelgt.com (I searched this comp and all i found was a 5 second video of a failed burnout attempt in that car, but it wouldnt let me post it, if you want to see it, email me, its pretty funny...). Anyhow, the opel speedster uses a 2.2 liter ecotec (thats right, the same engine that goes in the cavalier and other such crap cars) or a 2.2 ecotec turbo. But the speedster(and vauxhall vx220) have lotus tuned suspension (or perhaps they have lotus built and tuned suspension...im not sure) and weight about 2000 lbs, so even with that engine they still have giant killing potential...I had heard some rumblings about Opel killing the speedster and remaking the GT, but I havent seen pictures. I can only guess the opel pic you posted was either an early picture of a prototype speedster before they got the name right or a newer prototype pic of the new GT. Regardless of what it is, it is definitely not my car, and the US market lotus elise definitely does have a celica engine...that is of course unless everything ive ever read about our elise is wrong...
Sorry about the mixup...Ive been paying more attention to this project lately than what Opels doing over in germany

Well, I dont have any pics now, theyre on the other comp. But...the elise engine is that from the Toyota celica gts(?) its their 1.8 that revs to 8 grand i believe, so it has not much in the way of torque, at least not as much as the rotory(never thought id be saying that).
