Default New here! ..but uhhhh, did I break something?

Hello everyone

... new here, and will be frequently partaking in this forum as a new (new to me) 2005 Honda Civic owner. I'm paranoid when it comes to anything mechanical so when I hear weird noises that I am not familiar with I kind of get nervous. So... now that you all have a general idea about me, I do have a serious question (serious to me lolz).

So today as I was making a right hand turn pulling into my parkway. I hit some ice and lost traction. To avoid hitting a parked car I cranked the wheel over harder, probably to the point I shouldn't have, and then proceeded, with the accelerator still somewhat punched trying to regain some pull, hit dry pavement with only one tire (right tire) and heard a crunch/creak. It was significantly loud too. I took the car around the block to see if anything was making noise, shaking, or anything of that nature and couldn't hear/feel anything. I am guessing it was internal??? I am kinda nervous I did something horribly horrific to my car.

Thanks to anyone who can either calm my nerves, or give me a straight up.. "YFU" answer. Thanks

Hard to say what it was, but I would definitely monitor it.

One question: Does your horn still work?

I would try to get a flashlight and check for any fractures or damage in the metal anywhere around your suspension, just as a precaution. Other than that I would say just be attentive and keep your senses up just to make sure everything sounds right and feels right as you drive. If anything progresses just post back.

Well upon inspection I did find fractures where the spring seats.

Will they need replacing? If so, is it the whole assembly, and what do they cost usually? Thanks

You said you hit on the right but you say the damaged spring perch is on the left ???. by looking at the rust that crack has been there for a while if an impact caused that then there would most certainly be a lot more damage then this.

Yeah I agree that the crack must have been there for a while on the left side. But the fracture on the right looks fresh. Sorry for the huge pics, but is this cause for concern? Thanks.

Hey yeah sorry... was hard to get the camera in there. The last photo is of the left side where you can see I wiped away some dirt. It is in a V shape. I will try to take a better one tonight.
